Paediatric First Aid Course. This Paediatric First Aid Course has been developed for those who are working with children and infants. It will be of particular interest to teachers, child minders, crèche assistants, playgroup personnel and anyone else who has a responsibility for their welfare whilst in your care. It is ideal for individuals who are responsible for children and infants, who wish to gain a nationally accredited Level 6 Award.
This two-day course on Paediatric First Aid satisfies the guidelines and criteria as laid down by the Care Inspectorate, Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and OFSTED. In order to obtain this qualification, you must complete unit 1 of accreditation.
A minimum of 6 hours makes up the unit consisting of theoretical and practical work.
SQA Emergency Paediatric First Aid Course assessment is on-going by the assessor in respect of the candidate’s practical skills and there will be a question paper to answer in respect of their knowledge. A three-year SQA certificate will be issued subject to assessment.
There are no formal entry requirements however Candidates must be physically able to carry out procedures required to meet assessment criteria.
